had her first chemo on July 1 and will have another in two weeks.

Phil Hudson

If you subscribe to Our State Magazine you read Phil's daughter Elizabeth's editorial comments about her dad. For 17 days Phil was in the ICU at Moses Cone Hospital on a ventilator. He had surgery for a diseased lung and lost 18% of his lung to cancer. Lloyd talked to Elizabeth today and learned that Phil has been home for two weeks now and is doing better. 20111021 - Virginia Update

Virginia called with an update on her condition. Her hamstring muscle was torn loose in three places. She has been released from Universal Health Care and is at Harry Craven's, 879-4054, for home health and physical therapy for 2 to 3 months since she can't stay by herself. In a couple of weeks they will know the condition of her leg, but therapy seems long term. She thanks everyone for their thoughts and prayers and hopes to be bicycling in the spring. Lloyd

Today's Courier-Tribune had a notice of Marjorie Deaton's death on October
15 in Decatur, Ga. Carol and her family will be at Pugh Funeral home today,
Tuesday, October 18 from 6 - 8 p.m. Lloyd
I should have added that graveside services for Carol's mom will be on Wednesday, October 19 at 10:00 a.m. at Oaklawn Cemetery, 737 Albemarle Rd., if any of you want to come in early before our fall get-together at Hibachi Grill.
